Motivation for sports

1. Short and painless

Can't bring yourself to go to the gym in the morning or evening? Then take the first step in the right direction by setting yourself a time limit of 30 minutes to start with. You can predict the time and it will fly by. And lo and behold: once you start training, you will finish your sessions. A first small success!

2. Keep a fitness diary

You can record all the steps in it: how often you manage to exercise, how you feel afterwards, how much your waist circumference has reduced or your biceps circumference has increased. Record your physical changes in photos - this way you can visualize your success. You will see - this will make your intrinsic fitness motivation a breeze!

3. Do what you enjoy

Find a sport where you don't even think about the effort. How about volleyball, basketball or yoga? Many fitness studios offer group sports or clubs where you can pursue your passion for sport - trial lessons included. This way, sport will soon feel like a hobby. You'll see!

4. Two is better than one Find a partner who shares your goals - because double motivation to exercise is better. This way you can pull each other along, check that you are doing the exercises and support each other. Maybe you can carpool with your partner, which will also help your sense of community. Let's go!

5. Routine is half the battle

We brush our teeth every day or go to appointments. You can also incorporate regular training into your everyday life. Make a fixed schedule in which you plan your sessions at fixed times - for example at home while watching your favorite series. After just a few weeks, these slots will become second nature!

6. There's no getting around it Once you're home, it's even harder to get out and do some exercise. A little trick: take your gym clothes to work and drive straight to the gym from there. And for those of you who drive: having a gym bag packed and in the back seat will really get you motivated!

7. Variety is key

People are creatures of habit, but boredom can be a real motivation killer. That's why it's best to choose several different types of sport: alternate between upper and lower body training, strength and endurance training, go jogging when the sun is shining or go swimming when it's raining. Everyone has their own personal preferences, which can be easily incorporated into the exercise plan. 1:0 for motivation!
8. Motivational clothing You saw that great short summer dress recently? You want to be the hottest guy on the beach in your new swimwear? You can do it: buy a piece of clothing that you really want to show off in this summer and hang it where you will see it regularly. It will remind you again and again of your goal. And the more regularly you train, the better the beauty will look on you

9. Music as a motivator It's a well-known phenomenon: music has a big influence on our emotions. With your favorite song in your ears, everything is so much easier! This in turn means: with the right playlist, you can spur yourself on to peak performance until the beat drops! In addition, after a few sessions, your brain will connect neuronally with your music, so that training will soon be even easier for you.

10. Reward yourself Snack on a few energy balls or a protein bar instead, take a hot relaxing bath with candles, go out for sushi or steak with friends, meet up to cook together, snuggle up on the couch and watch your favorite TV series, reward yourself with a piece of clothing that you saw in the shop window on the way to the gym, treat yourself to a little massage to forget the stress of everyday life and relax your muscles...

There's something for everyone to get more motivation for sport. In any case, you can look forward to something very special during training. Give it a try!
